Dash’s Dance Party

Dash's Dance Party

This on air and online project was one of the coolest things I’ve worked on since coming to PBS. On air, kids are encouraged to dance along to songs sung by Dash that teach Spanish, rhythm, pitch and other subjects, and are directed to go online to keep dancing. Online, kids can make dances with one of four PBS KIDS preschool characters and play mini games to unlock new moves.

My online partner in crime Nina and I worked together to come up with the concept for this cross platform content and worked with Funny Garbage and the PBS Creative Services team to build it.

What are the lyrics to the theme song for Dash’s Dance Party? My kids watch three of the four shows on the block and we always hear the song. I’m sure they’d love to sing along. Great kid singer btw!

I’m so glad to hear your kids like the Dance Party! The beginning is basically just “Dance Party, Dash’s Dance Party…” and the rest of the song varies by what physical activities are in each. I believe we have around 45 different versions.

Hi! I was looking this up because my little girl likes the Dance Party. What was your source for the music in the game that sounds like belly dance music? I love that music and wanted to buy a cd.

The music was made specifically for the different TV spots. Unfortunately we don’t have any cd’s or ways to distribute the songs. Glad you enjoyed it!
